How To Set Successful Goals

Many people want to know how to better set goals. They might have ideas in mind, but can never get to the point where goals are set forth and achieved. There are many reasons why goals may be hard to plan out and pursue and ways to help. Finding solutions to battle poor goal setting might help you to achieve the goals and dreams you have always wanted.

For some, the concept of setting goals sounds impossible because there are just too many steps along the way. It is often hard to imagine getting somewhere when it sounds like an impossible task to achieve. For example; a singer who has always dreamed of becoming famous, might not even consider pursuing that option because it just seems like a wacky idea. However, if the singer thought about baby steps toward getting there, she or he might think more successfully.

Setting goals involves breaking an idea down into small steps. A great example of this is for someone who is trying to lose weight. They might want to lose a hundred pounds, but this goal might sound like a far one away to have. It can often be hard to stay motivated toward something that doesn`t happen right away. That means that the person who wants to lose weight would be more successful if he/she begins with a lower weight goal. So perhaps they can have a goal that is something like losing two pounds. It doesn`t sound like much, but reaching it can happen fast and create a sense of hope, and a group of two pound loses will soon add up to something much bigger.

Goal setting also involves planning and writing things down. It is find for someone to say that they would like to plan a wedding, or lose weight, or become the boss of a company in the future. But without a solid plan on how to get there, it might never happen. It is best to sit down and make up a plan. A plan should include lots of goals. And those goals should be small ones and large ones. The small goals are things that can happen quickly and are more insight. That may mean that your baby goals might include things like; getting to work on time every day or to find a wedding planner book to get started.

Planning your goals and dreams might take a while. So don`t plan on it being down in five minutes while you eat breakfast. Have a notebook out with some solid goals and have it sit around for a few days or weeks and play around with the ideas you have in there. Some goals might require some research, for example if you`re thinking about returning to school, or some goals might need the help from family and friends. Set yourself up for success and have a plan that takes time to build and expand on.

A great motto to live by is that if you fail to plan…you plan to fail. That means that a well thought out plan with small and big goals is the way to achieve your dreams. Great planning is the key to success and successful planning begins with positive goals. Goals that is reachable and attainable. Once all of your attainable goals are reached you will be moving closer to your bigger goals and showing you the power of being successful.

Loving Life Beyond Crisis

Loving Life Beyond Crisis

Loving life though a crisis can be a big challenge indeed. Once a crisis happens in one’s life, the general feeling for many people would be quite on the negative. A crisis breeds negativity and hopelessness for a lot of people who go through it. But there are ways that this can be managed. People can try to handle a crisis from a more objective view and try to come out of it wiser and stronger instead of feeling failure and defeat.

One way to handle a crisis without letting it overwhelm you is by trying to objectively assess the magnitude of the situation. There are times that a certain crisis only seems to look hopeless until one tries to take a closer look. Initial reactions to certain crises tend to be a bit exaggerated. A crisis can look quite hopeless at first glance but can actually be something not as serious after making some assessments.

Another way to effectively handle a crisis is by trying to look for ways that one can still have some control over. Crisis can make people think that the situation is beyond their control and may feel helpless. But a crisis can still have something that people may have control of to handle such a situation. During times of crisis, reacting emotionally can lead to rash decisions tat can even put one into more serious circumstances at the worst. Trying to find some means of control over the situation can have a stabilizing effect that would help one think more objectively rather than emotionally.

Another way to effectively handle a crisis is by not looking at it as a whole. Doing so can make the crisis look like that it affects ones entire life. But there are usually some things that may not be affected by the crisis. There are some aspects in life that are way outside from being affected by a certain crisis. It is important for a person to be able to separate those things that are directly affected by the crisis from those that are not. Separating things that are affected by the crisis from those that are not can help reduce the situation to its actual size.

Another way to effectively handle a crisis is by not doing it alone. There are times that people would try to isolate themselves during a crisis. A possible reason would be not trying other people to be affected by it. But this can be a big mistake. It may be possible that there are some people who may have once gone through a certain crisis similar to yours. By not being able to share it, you may not be able to get wise and sagely advice on how to handle it from the very person who has actually gone through the same ordeal. And just by knowing that someone has done better after going such a crisis may also help give hope and reinforcement that such a situation can effectively be overcome.

Another way to effectively handle a crisis is by searching for information. The world is full of information regarding anything in the world, including coping up with crisis. All a person needs to do is to look for it and use the ones that may prove helpful in trying to handle the crisis. Doing these things effectively can help a person still experience loving life despite crisis.

Reap Your Own Happiness

Reap Your Own Happiness

One of my favorite expressions is that “you reap what you sow”. While I often hear it used negatively by someone who expects some “chickens to come home to roost” I prefer to think of it as something positive. How comforting to think that all our hard work and toil will be rewarded with a crop of something good? How wonderful to think that putting love and care into some project or person will indeed be rewarded.

Of course, while most Americans give lip service to the notion of our right to pursue happiness, all too many people do not really believe it applies to them. Many people simply believe they don’t deserve happiness. And even those few who do believe it seem to accept unhappiness as simple bad luck.

Every person does indeed deserve happiness and what is more happiness is contagious. The more happy people there are around then even more people will find happiness. We owe it ourselves to work on our own happiness and we owe it to society as well. Our own happiness will help others and inspire others to find happiness. If we are unhappy then we are likely making others unhappy as well (even if unintentionally) and it is extremely unlikely we are doing much to contribute to the happiness of others.

So how do you become a happy person? You simply reap your own happiness. But how? Take these four simple steps:

Step one — Ready Yourself For Happiness

You can accomplish this step by first determining that you want to be happy. Part of being happy is wanting to be happy. Once you have committed yourself to the course of finding happiness for yourself then you must rid yourself of the notion that happiness is luck or based on possessions or persons. No thing and no one can make you happy. Happiness comes from within yourself.

Step two — Envision Yourself As Happy

Every day when you first wake up and at various points during the day spend some time envisioning yourself as a happy person. Picture yourself laughing, smiling, relaxing. Imagine yourself as happy. The more you can fix this image of yourself as happy in your mind then the easier it will be for you to truly become happy.

Step three — Assume You Will Be Happy

Many people tend to assume that they will spend much of their lives either unhappy or at least not really happy. However we have all seen those people who do seem to be genuinely happy with their lives. They smile frequently, laugh often, and seem to be in good humor most of the time. Yet this is not because they are richer or more successful. Sometimes these people were just born with the good fortune to have an optimistic outlook that life has not yet knocked out of them, but often these people have simply chosen that they will be happy and they recognize that there is always something about their lives that makes them happy. You know this is true of yourself as well. Concentrate on the areas of your life that give you happiness whenever you feel unhappiness seeping in and no matter what assume that you will be, you can be, a happy person.

Step four — Pursue Your Happiness

Happiness is rarely a wonderful accident of fate. Happiness is rarely found by accident. While you may find happiness in unexpected places you must first open yourself to the possibility of happiness and prepare yourself to accept it when you find it. Some people are so miserable that they step right around happiness when they encounter. Don’t let this happen to you. What is more, don’t simply sit at home waiting for happiness to come knocking on your door. Go out and live life. Think about what currently makes you happy and spend time in those activities and think about what might make you happy and spend time experimenting. The more time you spend actively living your life then the more likely that you will also lead a happy life.

Remember, you deserve a happy life and you can lead a happy life, but in the end you reap what you sow. If you are sowing happiness in your life then you will reap happiness as well.
