Have you ever wished that your life could be a lot better and more fulfilling than the one you are in right now? One thing you can do to help yourself get the life you want is to create a worksheet and write down exactly what you want. It seems that writing down your goals and desires brings out some magical process to help you achieve them.
Here are some of the things you have to plan out in your worksheet for a smooth sailing journey towards self improvement goal.
Get up early
For many of us getting up is a real chore. How many times do you hit the snooze button? As part of discipline get in the habit of getting up a half hour earlier than you need to. By doing so you will help get rid of the sluggish feeling of starting a new day.
Once you are alert go out and watch the sunrise. There is nothing like watching the sun come up to help put you in a more positive frame of mind. And as the sun rises in the sky, let your energy rise inside you. If this is not possible then take a brisk walk, or run, or do some exercise to start out your day.
Eat breakfast
We are now learning that it is very important to eat something within an hour of getting up. It is also important to eat something nutritious and healthy. So to start your day out right you need energy to accomplish your daily tasks. And eating a nourishing breakfast will go a long way to providing you the energy needed. Even a bowl of oatmeal, or a few slices of fresh fruit will get you going. Please keep in mind that if you want to improve yourself it is important to take care of yourself.
Smile a lot
One of the things you can do, and it’s even free, is to smile more than you have before. Make it a habit to smile at everyone you meet or cross paths with. Yes smiling is free, but it seems so few people do it. By smiling you will increase your energy as well as spreading some good cheer to others. Who knows your smile may actually help someone else with their day.
A real goal is a written goal
When we write our goals we set in motion a process whereby the universe recognizes we are serious about what it is we are writing down. In researching goal setting one common theme comes up over and over again, namely that of writing down our goals. You may think this is ridiculous and not important, but I challenge you to give it a try. Try it with something small for 30 days and see what happens.
Review your goals regularly
Another part of writing down your goals is to review them regularly. With life coming at us as fast as it is these days we often lose track of what is/was important to us as we live our hectic lives. So it is important to review our goals, to see what progress we are or aren’t making. It also helps us to see if the goals are still relevant or not for us. After all life and circumstances do change, as must our goals change to flow with life.
Very few people recognize the power in goal setting. Did you know less than 5% of our population really understands the value and benefits of goal setting? I bet many of you have books on your shelves on goal setting, or even some type of goal achievers manual, and the pages are very likely empty. This is one of the reasons very few keep their New Years resolutions. Once you start seeing successes you will get more encouraged to set even bigger goals. Then you will be moving towards living the life you truly desire.
