Shamit Khemka launched Synapse India in the year 2000, with a modest investment of Rs 6 lakh and only 5 rented computers. Today, it is one of the eminent IT outsourcing companies in the country, with a workforce of more than 300. Headquartered in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, the enterprise has representative offices worldwide and has registered a growth of 100% every year, since its inception.
The man behind the success of Synapse, Ex-Scindian, Khemka, is one of the renowned entrepreneurs of India. His dynamism and keen business acumen is demonstrated in the string of commercial ventures established by him. In addition to being CEO of Synapse, this 34-year-old is also serving as Communication Chair on the board of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization, New Delhi.

He embarked upon his entrepreneurial voyage in 1994, with the establishment of Pharos Infotech. Based out of Kolkata, the company was India’s first ever bulletin board service (Livewire BBS) with emailing service. This was followed by the creation of Sampatti.com in 1998, India’s first interactive real estate Web directory, which brought together the real estate industry and allied services on one platform.
“Being a successful entrepreneur takes more than just starting new ventures every other day. It requires having the right attitude towards life, along with the determination and grit to achieve success,” says Khemka, when asked about the qualities required to make one a success.
Synapse is essentially an Indian offshore specialist dedicated towards delivering qualitative software development, website design and Internet marketing solutions. The company provides IT solutions to diverse industries and organizations across the world. Its service offerings include Web and software development, search engine optimization services, Web design, Flash programming, etc.
Within only 8 years of its existence, the firm has managed to acquire a host of prestigious recognitions and acknowledgements—it is NASSCOM and FICCI-certified, and has bagged the distinguished CMMI level-3 and Microsoft Gold Certified Partner accreditation.
