Refuse to sit back and watch your dreams dwindle away into the air. It is time for you to live your life the way that you deserve to live it. It is time for you to make it happen! Your goals and dreams not happening for you is no longer an option!

If you have ever had a moment where you have felt like you missed it, then you were wrong! You have not missed it. You are still a goal-getter. You still can achieve your dreams. You can still do all that you want to do, and be all that you desire to be. You have the internal power to succeed. So activate your power and make it happen!

It would be wonderful if our dreams and goals rang our doorbell in search of us. But that does not happen. It is up to us to take the necessary steps that bring us closer to the things that we desire to accomplish. And always remember that no goal or dream is too small!

And sometimes you have to stretch your faith to reach your dreams. That stretch allows you to push and press through challenges and obstacles. When we empower our dreams and goals with faith true transformation happens. Because we are no longer trying to use our own power to make things happen, but faith is our driving force. That can be a real secret to success!

And if things haven’t happen for you yet, a delay is not a denial. You still have so many great things that are waiting for you. So don’t give in and don’t quit! Stay in the boxing ring and defeat the opponent of discouragement. Develop unstoppable confidence and be determined to live from a place of victory. And with that type of mindset you will find yourself getting closer and closer to your dreams and goals with each day that passes.

Do you truly know that you have the power within to live a fulfilled and empowered life? Do you truly know that you are an amazing person filled with destiny and purpose? Do you truly know that it is time to push the fast forward button in your life? Do you truly know that it is your time to experience all of the great things that you deserve? I hope that you answered yes!

And for the record, it doesn’t matter where you have been. What matters is where you are going. So don’t keep a resume listing all of your past mistakes, or any other things that are not going to help you move forward.

Just take a deep breath, believe in yourself and make it happen!

Dr. Shauntel Peak-Jimenez is a Certified Life Coach for women and Certified Coach Trainer. In reality motivation comes from a person’s belief, which helps him/her to achieve his/her goal. Purpose,Desire,Direction and Dedication are the qualities necessary to experience real motivation.

People motivate themselves by understanding their needs and wants. It could be Tangible Gifts,Rewards or Intangible growth,Appreciation,Recognition and a lot more, as it varies from person to person. How does motivation work in your case? If you Understand how motivation works for you, then your Internal Motivation will drive you to achieve your goals and lead you toward success.

People motivate themselves by inculcating in themselves, the belief responsible for actions and behaviour and creating a vision that helps them to outweigh the challenges that might come before them and accept their responsibilities in life. Lack of motivation brings life to a standstill, failure or fear of failure demotivates people and their pattern of their everyday life.On the contrary a motivated person has a spark in his eyes, always looks for new challenges and ways he can improve himself.

It could be said that real motivation starts from within a person based on how there needs are being consistently met. Without going into a long drawn out explanation of Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs I will state some of the conclusions. The most basic of needs stated by Abraham Maslow was the need to survive. Until that need is consistently met the other needs for all practical purposes cease to exist. Once that need is met then the individual is now ready to fulfill the other needs that may exist for themselves. These can be readily determined by there own specific paradigm of life. A person’s paradigm is just the LENSES they tend to consistently see life through. A set of beliefs that color there experience and interpretation of all that surrounds them. There is no real change until a person’s paradigm changes. But the motivation to make a paradigm change leads us to the next section.

SELF MOTIVATION AND YOU

If you are a person who is disciplined, goal-oriented, organized and instant, it means that you have the skills to motivate yourself. It means that you have a sense of achievement and that’s how motivation actually works. For you to become the person that you are today.

Motivation is temporary and short lived and hence it needs to be strengthened constantly to succeed. Negative thoughts and anxiety come into play and we can become demotivated and dubious about our future. However, just by accepting the challenges to move forward, one can get motivated as he will have the will and commitment to be successful,Accepting the failures, learning it as a lesson in life, helps us to move on to the next stage of success.

CONCLUSION

Self motivated person knows the trick to get motivated after a disappointment and accepts the next obstacle that comes along. A motivated individual understands his thoughts and emotions, learns how to nurture them into a positive outcome, that keeps them focused on the next goal instead of being Complacent.

Michael Johnson makes it easy to understand motivational concepts, quickly & easily. SalesMax is one of our highly validated and reliable assessments for selecting consultative sales persons. It is a unique psychometric test in the assessment arena because it not only measures sales personality (the most important measure), but also sales knowledge and sales motivations. It’s the latter measure I wish to address in this article.

From years of observing SalesMax reports I have always been puzzled why the motivation of money is not a key sales driver. Last week the team at AssessSystems dived into the SalesMax database and crunched the numbers from the motivations scale. The results were in line with my casual observations. Of the eight motivators measured, the extent to which one is motivated by financial rewards, such as money and material possessions, ranks number five on the list.

Before expanding on possible reasons, lets look at what the motivations scales in SalesMax measures.

1.Recognition/attention – The extent to which one values recognition for work well done; enjoyed being the centre of attention

2.Control – The extent to which one prefers positions of leadership with control, like being in charge.

3.Money – The extent to which one is motivated by financial rewards, such as money and material possessions.

4.Freedom – The extent to which one values personal freedom to make decisions and function independently.

5.Developing expertise – The extent to which one values becoming an expert in developing skills in their chosen field.

6.Affiliation – the extent to which one is motivated by interactions with other people. Enjoys helping and dealing with people

7.Security/stability – the extent to which one is motivated by stability and security of life and their career

8.Achievement – the extent to which one is motivated by overcoming successful challenges: enjoys challenges for their own sake.

The development of the motivations scale began with the research into existing literature concerning sales motivations and values, as well as more general theoretical frameworks of human motivation. In addition, existing measures of sales values and motivations were also reviewed.

Based on this research, the list of eight motivational dimensions (outlined above) most relevant to sales persons were selected. Psychometrically appropriate items were then created to measure each of these dimensions.

Each item presents the respondent with the beginning phrase of a sentence and asks the respondent to choose three endings (ranked, most, second most and third most) that closely matches his/her opinions, feelings, or attitudes. Each ending is associated with a particular motivational dimension.

The SalesMax motivation scales provide insight into the relative strengths or importance of each motivator to the candidate. This is indicated as a percentage of the times the candidate selected this particular motivator over the other possible motivators presented.

The result of the motivation section helps the new manager in selecting motivational techniques that are appropriate for the individual. The hiring interview provides further opportunities to probe that the candidate’s motivational needs fit with the organisation.

Now to our results

In rank order, these are the scale scores (as a percentage) prospective sales persons chose one motivator over the rest. Scores have been rounded:

Achievement = 50%

Developing expertise = 20%

Affiliation = 8%

Security = 7%

Money = 7%

Freedom = 4%

Control = 2%

Recognition = 1%

Although we did not go to the extent of grouping scores by sales types, we did do this by clients. In all cases the Achievement scale came out a clear winner.

However, the Money scale did have variations depending on the sales process and method of remuneration, identified by client type. For example, where the sales process involved selling a consumable item on a retainer/commission basis the Money scale score was 19%; on the other hand, if the processing was more “service orientated”, or consultative, the score was 2%. Despite this obvious difference, I remain quite surprised that the Money scale still rates low.

One of our distributors did make the comment that there may be some management of self-impression going on here; the candidates did not want to be perceived as “money hungry”. I made the counter comment that this may work against them, in that a potential employer may feel that if the person had no drive to earn good money then their sales drive could be equally lethargic, particularly if remuneration was commission orientated.

Another explanation could be the “cart before the horse” approach, that is being driven by the recognition and attention for a job well done will naturally result in increased earnings. What are your thoughts?

SalesMax is not only ideal for selection, the development report and associated 3 hour power development workshop is a great way to target sales training and set non-monetary sales development targets and goals.

To understand more about SalesMax, go to www.bigby.com/salesmax/nz or call Rob McKay at +64 9 414 6030 for a web meeting demonstration

Or see a quick powerpoint presentation at …

https://www.bigby.com/systems/salesmax/newzealand/default.asp

Article Source

Related Blogs

24-hour Breaking News on Zambia | English order can't be enforced …

The First English Newspapers in South Korea | The Marmot's Hole

Teaching English in Busan, Gimhae Korea

The English Cuisine.

Six communist textbooks to learn English « Six Things

English subtitle failure

Emily Blunt misses English 'repression' » Celebrity gossip, news …

What is Motivation? – Everything

self improvement

Boring Life

Challenges

Death Bed

Different Things

Failure

Inner Desire

Job

Lack Of Motivation

Marriage

Real People

Sparkle

Standstill

Tap

True Self

Do people really think that life is meant to be lived in default? Getting up, going to work because you have to without any real motivation or joy in doing so. Do you want to regret your boring life when you are on your death bed? Or do you want to look back at a life that is so bright and wonderful it is almost blinding to look at?

What is Motivation?

Is motivation the key ingredient to getting what you want in life? In reality, motivation is an inner process that helps you to move toward your goal in definite motion, with purpose and vision. Drive and determination are two qualities necessary to experience real motivation.

Some people allow different things to motivate them. It could be your job, your marriage, your family, your income or your wealth. What is motivation to you? If you can find out what is motivates you, then you can have tap into your true self and hone in on exactly what you need to do to succeed.

Without motivation you will go nowhere in life and end up like most people, running to the movie store to rent enough movies, or to the bar on Friday to help you zone out until Monday. Let me know how many truly successful people you find at a bar?

Some people have learned what motivation is by seeking to improve themselves and creating a vision that is realistic as well as having an inner desire that outweighs the challenges.

Since motivation is a parallel to the word, “move,” lack of motivation is when your life is at a standstill. This equates to fear of failure and what keeps most people from doing anything significant in their lives.

You can tell a motivated person when you see one. They have that sparkle in their eye and they are always looking for new challenges and ways to grow. Growth is synonymous to motivation because there isn’t really a stopping point of “all right, I have done enough it is time to just sit around and do nothing.” Motivation is ongoing as you will find that successful people always have something that motivates them. They know that there motivation is what helps shape the very world that we live in.

Staying motivated is not necessarily easy, however, especially when we face obstacles or uninvited trouble that dampens our spirit. Negative thoughts and anxiety come into play and we can become unmotivated and doubtful about our future.

However, there are some people who have learned how to pick up the pieces and use their challenges as a stepping-stone to move forward. That is what makes these people successful. They view failure as a lesson in life and never see themselves as a victim.

What is Self-Motivation To You?

If you are a person who is disciplined, goal-oriented, and organized, it is quite likely that you have the skills to motivate yourself. It is possible that you have realized what motivation is and have used it to become the person that you are today.

Self-motivated people know that there is no simple solution to becoming motivated after a disappointment, but they also know that if they can beat the odds, then they will be stronger the next time another obstacle comes along.

Self-motivated individuals realize that their thoughts are what control their emotions. Learning how to nurture their thoughts into a positive outcome helps them to pull themselves together and keep focused on their long-term goals instead of the temporary situation that is plaguing them.

Brue M. When I started my business in 1993, I faced all the challenges experienced by most new business start-ups. I also had to deal with the all the negative situations; the people who said – “The Speaking and Training business is a hard market to break into, it’s very competitive, you’re very brave! There was also the rejection from potential customers and the people who’d let me down at the last minute.

I quickly realised that if I was going to be successful, there were two things that I really needed. Lots of BRAIN ENERGY and lots of BODY ENERGY.

Sure-fire tip number 1 is – Build your Brain Energy.
Imagine that you’ve just been rejected for a bank loan, or you’ve just been turned down by a potential customer, or a publishing company has rejected the book that you’ve slaved over for the past couple of years.
If you react with – “Oh no, not again, I’m really fed up with this. These people are a real pain. They’re making a big mistake. What am I going to do now?”
This sort of reaction drains your brain of energy, adds to your stress levels and destroys your self motivation.

Reacting drains the brain – thinking less so.

Get the thinking part of your brain working and say to yourself – “I’ll make an appointment today with a better bank! I’ll phone the next potential customer on my list right now! The next publishing company will see the potential in my book!”
There are also many minor situations that happen every day that’ll drain the energy from your brain. If I receive a parking ticket, I pay the fine right away; get rid of it; forget it and move on. Moaning and complaining about it drains the brain and the fine still has to be paid.

Do not, and I repeat, do not say – “Oh no, what am I going to do now?” Every time you say – “Oh no” your brain has a huge drain of energy.
Build up your brain energy using lots positive self-talk.
Your level of success in terms of your happiness, emotional wellbeing and anything else you desire is a direct result of how you talk to yourself. The most important relationship you’ll ever have is the one you have with yourself.
Listen to the self-talk that goes on in your head and ask yourself – “Is what I’m saying allowing me to be confident, on top and going for it?” If so – great!
“Or is it holding me back and stopping me achieve my goals?” If this is the case – STOP IT, change the program!
Think about the things you say to yourself and make every statement in the present tense.

Don’t say, for example – “I’m going to make a success of this business” or “I’m going to get organised,” or “I’m going to be much more confident.”
Say – “I am totally in control of my life. I am totally confident and positive. I’m achieving my goals. I have determination and drive.”
What you’re actually doing here is re-programming your subconscious. If you talk to yourself in a positive way, that’s what your subconscious will focus on and you’ll have lots of brain energy

Sure-fire tip number 2 is – Build your Body Energy
The body and the brain are linked together so when the brain drains of energy so does the body. However, the body also does a lot of running about, up and down off the seat and often takes a bit of a beating.
For it to work well, it needs to be in good condition in the first place. We all know by now that if we eat too much or eat the wrong things, smoke too much or drink too much alcohol, then our body is in danger of breaking down.
However, if you want more body energy, then you’re going to have to do some exercise. (Do I hear you saying – “I need the body energy before I can do the exercise!?”) You know as well as I, that if you take more exercise, you will have more energy.

Now I know you think you don’t have the time. You may also be the type that doesn’t want to go to the gym and lift heavy things or leap about in an aerobics class; however, you need to take some exercise that makes you sweat a little.
I’m sorry, but a round of golf doesn’t count, it isn’t the kind of exercise you need. Golf is great and it’s good for the stress but it doesn’t make you sweat.

If you’re going to walk then walk fast for a distance, enough to push up the heart rate and increase the breathing.
Again, get your internal program right and start to think how you can make your exercise enjoyable. I see some people at the health club making the whole business a real chore. They get on a bike or a rowing machine and try to kill themselves for twenty minutes. If that’s your thing then fine but please don’t make it a chore, plug into the sound system and catch up with what’s on TV.

If you’re really not into exercise then please make sure you have other activities outside of your workplace and make them fun. Too many people are going home and slumping in front of the TV – successful people don’t do that.

Make no mistake about it; if you look after the body and the brain; you’ll have lots of VROOM! (And that’s another word for self-motivation)

Alan Fairweather, ‘The Motivation Doctor,’ is an International Speaker, Author and Sales Growth Expert.
For the past fifteen years, he’s been turning ‘adequate’ Managers, Sales and Customer Service people into consistent top performers.

He is the author of – ‘How to be a Motivational Manager’ A down-to-earth guide for Managers and Team Leaders.
To receive your free newsletter and free ebooks, visit: http://www.themotivationdoctor.com
Article Source

Motivation Means Presence Not Presents

self improvement

Acceptable Level

Acknowledgement

Adults

Attention Children

Bicycle

Boss

Challenges

Decisions

Friends Children

Giving Feedback

Giving Time

Incentives

Job

Motivation

Parents Face

Presence

Presents

Prizes

Quality Time

Staff Member

Let me ask you a quick question; do you have any children? I don’t have any children, however, I appreciate the challenges that parents face and I’m most reluctant to tell anyone how to bring up their children.

Whether you do or don’t have children, I’m certain you appreciate the importance of raising them to be happy and successful.
To do that, you’d take a great deal of interest in them and what they’re doing; show you care about them and give them lots of your time and attention.

Children show us from an early age that they want lots of attention. We become aware of this by the way they physically and emotionally, reach out to us. If we fail to provide their required level of attention or acknowledgement, then they’ll almost certainly let us know; usually by behaving badly.

Some parents have difficulty in giving time and attention and often bribe or pay their children to be successful with offers of gifts or money. “Pass your exams and I’ll buy you a new bicycle!” However, children want presence not presents and if they fail to receive their acceptable level of attention and acknowledgement, then they may behave badly.

Not a lot changes when we become adults; we still crave attention and acknowledgement from other people. We look for it from our partners, friends, children, parents and, very importantly – our boss at work!

Successful Motivational Managers realise this and provide their staff with attention and acknowledgement.

They spend quality time with every member of their staff, giving feedback on job performance; be it good or bad.

They listen to problems, both business and personal; they show interest and help the staff member find solutions

They show that they trust and believe in their staff by empowering them to make decisions and be responsible for their actions

Successful Motivational Managers do not bribe or pay their staff to be successful. Incentives, bonuses and prizes are all acceptable; however, they will never replace attention and acknowledgement.

Some food for thought; take a minute and think about someone in your life who you did your best for. Perhaps it was a parent, a teacher or a manager. What was it about them that made you want to do your best; was it presence or presents??

Alan Fairweather, ‘The Motivation Doctor,’ is an International Speaker, Author and Sales Growth Expert.
For the past fifteen years, he’s been turning ‘adequate’ Managers, Sales and Customer Service people into consistent top performers.

He is the author of – ‘How to be a Motivational Manager’ A down-to-earth guide for Managers and Team Leaders.
To receive your free newsletter and free ebooks, visit: http://www.themotivationdoctor.com
Article Source

Setting Smart Goals That Guarantee You Excel In Life

self improvement

Challenges

Current Position

Difficult Situations

Excel

Gauge

Guarantee

Mentality

Negative Influence

People

Predicaments

Proper Guidance

Psychologists

Reaching Goals

Reaching Your Goals

Setting Goals

Smart Goals

Spirits

In order to achieve success, you need to start setting smart goals. This too will pass…

I turned 40 this year in January and thought not too much about it, however as the year has progressed I’ve felt like a frustrated 13 year old. What used to work for me as far as the opportunities that would fly my way have stopped. What in the hell is going on I asked myself. So as is my nature I did some research and found out I was going through a mid-life-crisis (MLC).

The changes that generally a lot of MLC people go through and which are misunderstood, can lead to some big choices that can be mistakes.
The cravings for change and a sense of “the grass is greener” can to varying degrees lead one to really shake up the boat and maybe lose a few shipmates along the way. Even little shipmates.

So its change we MLC passengers sometimes pine for, dreaming up illusions of change that may not really be in our best interests and not in our budget.

The challenge then is there are many choices of change. Black and White’ly speaking there’s positive and negative, ying and yang, good and bad, even non action and Action. ‘All is in action with or without your permission in the larger consciousness of Universal Law.’

I can only share that I have been led to a place in my MLC that I believe is the most challenging I’ve had to face in my whole life.

Do I resist the changes because they are challenging therefore causing much pain? Or do I receive the challenge which is really ‘ONLY WHAT I THINK’ will be painful and uncomfortable.

I commit to the challenges and yes they are all for the benefit of greater growth and evolution of being an “authentic me”.
MLC has the opportunity for the passenger to realise their most heartfelt dreams and take the positive steps to claiming them. Answer the age old questions of “what am I doing here” and “what my true purpose is here in (mysteriously) the years I have to live on earth?

Alls well to share this revelation yet I still would love to escape and be backpacking around the world instead, sometimes!

The changes need to happen within me, not to create them from the outside. Then I’m only escaping the truth and the gift of the MLC.

A couple of things I’ve had to change to cope with the incessant feeling of inner anxiety and inner restlessness are as follows.

•	I employed a personal trainer and committed to exercise for a longer limbered life
•	I employed a Life/Business Coach
•	I’ve let go of the fear of financial insecurity to concentrate on what I really want to achieve in the next to last part of my existence
•	I’ve taken more interest in my 8 year olds personal development and researched what he is needing from me
•	I’ve started to look at the beliefs that have had been programmed into me along the way and asked myself what ‘I want to believe’
•	I’m trying especially hard when the urge to run overcomes me to accept that this rather uncomfortable time will pass and there will be a reward for my diligence
•	I’m learning not to “sweat the small stuff”
•	I’ve let go of my family who have SHAMED me and never accepted me for my individuality all my life. (In other words enough is enough, I don’t need anyone in my life who pushes buttons and makes me feel bad) This was a biggie however I now feel a freedom never felt before and this will be explained in a later article MLC Part 2.
•	Knowing this phase goes on for about 5 years I try acceptance and as a chronic control freak all my life I’m learning to let go
•	I’m loving and caring for myself
•	I’m being particular about who I allow myself to associate with, I have a choice

If your on this journey along with me we are the babies of the sixties and inherent in us is the values of those times. Something changed though; the 70’s and 80’s that were so foreign to our values, I personally felt I was born at the wrong time. I am not of the ‘ME GENERATION’ I am an early Indigo child with the idealist Love and Peace for all mankind mantra.

Whether you are sensitive to astrology or not, one who I know and love can proclaim the effects the planets have on our whole system(s) of inner and outer experiences. It has been said that the poorest person on earth is the one without a dream and the most frustrated is the one who has dreams but does not accomplish them. The value of dreams to a person who wants to achieve in life cannot be over emphasized. However, not every thing will work for you. You must understand the various factors which contribute towards your failure in life.

To begin, you must put in your mind that you cannot achieve your vision alone. You are not an island and therefore you need the help of others to guarantee your success.

Trying to get away with everything for yourself by ignoring others is a highway towards your failure.

Little knowledge is dangerous. You need to hook up with people who have made it in the past. They are important in showing you the potholes that you must avoid. They ensure that in times of picking up challenges you do not give up if you have shallow end-resources and poor results. Such kinds of people are termed as mentors and act as leaders. Therefore ensure that they have good leadership skills and of unquestionable character. People take a hike out of their dreams when unclear leadership clouds their vision.

You must always be on the move. No dream can be achieved in a day. Being stuck in the same position with slim hopes of forward or upward mobility can cause you to abort your goal. Beginning doing something right where you are.

Reuben Silfano Asiko is a practicing financial coach and also a well know motivatinal speaker.
