Set Goals for Yourself, Because Absolutely anything is possible that you want to achieve.
1. Cast aside limits and restrictions that you set upon yourself. The biggest reasons that we find for not following our dreams is that we have pre-conceived notions of what we think we can and cannot do.
There is always a reason that we cannot do something. Let go of those thoughts that are holding you back.
For me it has always been about my weight. I am too fat to do this or that. Now, after my first triathlon I was willing to start letting those thoughts go. I’ve started to trying new things and working on living the life my dreams.
I always thought that working on my goals would disrupt my life too much boy was I wrong. Working on achieving my goals has enriched my life on so many levels.
Its invigorating to challenge those erroneous beliefs of ourselves. Try dispelling one of the negative views by trying something new. Stop limiting yourself. Be true to your dreams and yourself; for why we should not go and get what we want in life.
2. Opening up yourself to new possibilities! It is a must if you want to achieve your goals. You may feel stuck in the daily grind of work, kids and taking care of it all. I get emails from people all the time from all over the world that feel stuck. They want to be happy and are looking to the future to make them happy.
I ask them to start a gratitude journal. That starts us living in the moment. We only have Now. So, Once you can start appreciating your life as it is around you; Only then can you open up to and see the possibilities that are all around you. Possibilities are boundless and always there for you.
3. Letting go of critical self judgments, because it is crucial to the total fulfillment of your goals. Think about it if you are passing judgment on your goals negatively, then are you really willing to ‘go for it’? Well, tell your self it is ok to want what you want.
Yes, want what you want with no apologies. You are not required to share your list of goals with anyone else. Share if you want to but only if you want to.
4. I saved the most important for last: Be very specific about what you want. This may be difficult for some of you. Especially if you are always working on others needs but your own. But as the Elvis song goes, Its Now or NeverĀ. To set effective goals you need to be specific. Do your best, and just do it!!
My goals are ever changing and growing. They include- a seven figure income and owning homes in my favorite places such as Montana, London and Vancouver BC. But for me that represents not just the material tangibility of the things; It represents security and having a roof over my head.
Challenges for September: Start a Gratitude Journal and set some goals for 1 month, 6 months and 1 year. Write in your journal everyday and visualize your path to your goals and take at least 2 steps everyday to move towards your goals and see them come true!
Make your goals a top priority. You can do it!
